Fabric of Life 1990-2009 acrylic on canvas 74 ½" w x 50 ¼” h
This is one of a series of paintings I began in the early 90s, representing a “woven” surface. It began as a weaving being pulled apart by the current of water or air. As I see all of life so interestingly interwoven, I began to see actual figures in the weave, and then enhanced them. I see the imagery of life, on any given day, constantly “shedding” us, at any age or place. To complete the scenario I included angels to gather us up.I liked the design concept of soft colors/texture next to the colorful chunky fabric, as well as being symbolic of some possible life beyond.
